The Main Gate - 1996 and Today

In 1996 the well presented Main Gate building welcomed visitors and workers - complete with a sign-in/out process for vehicles, and a turnstile for workers:

In 2014 the picture has changed slightly - the building is still there, the barrier gate broken and clearly hasn't been used in a while:

Inside the gatehouse - guess when it was last used...

The Admin Building: Then and Now

What was once the main admin building the greeted visitors and staff:
(August 1996)

is somewhat more derelict now, but still has perfectly cared for lawn:
(August 2014)

but the sign outside the building still tells visitors where to go (although most of the directions are no longer useful, the Post Office closed in the mid 2000s).
(August 2014)

The inside of the building however gives away that it hasn't been in use for quite some time:

EPA Concern during Asbestos Removal

September 2006 saw the salvage operation for the plant start. The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) became concerned about asbestos removal and carried out a number of visits and reports.

The regional response team met in 2013 and the report is available on the NRT site.
